Description	:	Frank W. Barrows, 43, of Nelson was killed sometime during the night Saturday when the car he was driving left Highway 14 and overturned two and three-quarters miles north of Nelson. His death was probably instantaneous. William S. Read More	Frank W. Barrows, 43, of Nelson was killed sometime during the night Saturday when the car he was driving left Highway 14 and overturned two and three-quarters miles north of Nelson. His death was probably instantaneous. William S. ("Bill") Stahl, 42, also of Nelson, the only other occupant of the car, escaped injury beyond severe body bruises and bumps and minor cuts about the head. He was knocked out in the crash and is unable to supply details concerning the crash. The men were returning to Nelson from Edgar at the time. The badly wrecked Chevrolet tudor (sic) was discovered about 9 a.m. Sunday by Jim Ferebee, who lives just across the road from the accident scene. Indications were that it had careened from the pavement, crashed through a heavy sumac thicket and struck a large tree before it rolled through the fence and stopped headed north 30 feet off the highway about half way down the dry creek bank. Barrows body was found 25 feet farther below. Young Ferebee called an ambulance and Sheriff W.L. Willcox in Nelson. When an early search of the locality and inquiries at Edgar failed to supply any information as to Stahl's whereabouts the Nelson firemen and other townspeople were called. He was found in a dazed condition about 1:45 that afternoon in a vacant house on the Lewis farm a quarter mile north and one-quarter west of the scene. He had been on the porch when he came to sometime earlier, too weak to attempt to get to help. Funeral services for Mr. Barrows were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Klawitter chapel here, with the Reverend R.L. Williams officiating. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). Frank William Barrows, youngest son of William and Cora M. Barrows, was born May 29, 1908. He left this earthly home on Feb. 10, 1952. Nelson has always been home to Frank. It was here he was born, spent his school days, and grew to manhood. He worked in and around Nelson until he answered the call to the Service of his country on March 12, 1942, serving in the Tank Battalion until he was honorably discharged on October 20, 1945. He holds membership in the American Legion Post at Superior. He was married August 2, 1949 to Julia Zanetti of Cherokee, Kan. In October when he was discharged from the service they came back to Nelson and established a home. Since the REA project opened up in this territory in 1946 he had been continuously employed by the South Central Membership Association. Frank was preceeded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and three sisters. Surviving him are his wife, Julia, sisters: Mrs. Nellie Gray, Nelson; Mrs. Della Cox, Niles, Mich.; Mrs. Frances Hunsberger, Ft. Collins, Colo.; brothers: Paul Barrows, Nelson; H.
