On the 5th of July she suffered a storke of paralysis from which she failed to rally. Read More	Pearl Barrows Janssen was born at Oak, Nebraska, September 29, 1902. Practically her entire life was spent in this community. On the 5th of July she suffered a storke of paralysis from which she failed to rally. On Sunday morning, July 7th, 1940, at her farm home west of Nelson, Nebraska, she slipped quietly away to that land in wich there is no pain and no sickness. She was married to Fred Janssen on February 28, 1923, at Bellville (sic), Kansas. About a year and a half ago, upon the death of her sister, Mrs. Melvin Cook, she took her two nieces, Jean and Shirley Cook, and a nephew, Billy Cook, into her home, caring for them with tenderest devotion. Her husband, Fred Janssen, and the three little Cook children especially mourn her early death. Besides those mentioned before, she is survived by her father, W.A. Barrows, Nelson, Nebraska; three brothers, H.J. Barrows, Danbury, Nebraska, Paul Barrows and Frank Barrows at Bellingham, Minnesota; and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Gray, Grand Island, Nebraska, Mrs. Della Cox of Oak, Nebraska, and Mrs. Frances Hunsberger, Lincoln, Nebraska. She leaves many other relatives and a wide circle of friends who will miss her solely. She was always pleasant and kindly "cheerful in word and deed." One need not seek for words to tell of her goodness and her virtues. Her life truly speaks for itself. And the tale it tells is one of kindliness, gentleness and service. There is no death! the stars go down To rise upon some fairer shore; And bright in Heaven's jewelled crown They shine forevermore. Though passed beyond our tear-dimmed sight, 'Tis but a larger life to gain; We feel their presence oft -- the same, Except in sin and pain. And ever near us, though unseen, The dear immortal spirits tread; For all the boundless universe Is life -- there is no dead! Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church (sic) in Nelson Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. V.R. Daniels of the Methodist church (sic) was in charge. Interment in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
