Description	:	Anchorage resident Franklin "Frank" Friend Snodgrass, 92, passed away on February 28, 2012. A service will be held March 10, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK. Frank was born on December 26, 1919 to Oliver Lee Snodgrass and Ethel (Blair) Snodgrass in Napavine, Washington. At age fifteen he quit school to help support the family after his dad was hurt in the woods. He worked in the timber industry falling trees, setting chokers,and sawing lumber. Read More	Anchorage resident Franklin "Frank" Friend Snodgrass, 92, passed away on February 28, 2012. Frank was born on December 26, 1919 to Oliver Lee Snodgrass and Ethel (Blair) Snodgrass in Napavine, Washington. He also worked in the mill at Onalaska and cleaning the smoke stack that still stands today. In 1940 he married Julia Octiva Frost of Glenoma, Washington. They lived in Onalaska, Glenoma, and Adna. In 1960 he went to Anchorage, Alaska. Julia and frank split up and he went on to work as a carpenter for housing contractors and then in the 1970s he went to work for FAA where he retired in 1989. During this time he met and married Margaret. They enjoyed 41 years together, living in Juneau, Bettles Fields, and Anchorage. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and flying. Frank is preceded in death by his parents; brother Fred Lee; sisters Emma, Lois, Clara,and Edith; daughter Carol and infant daughters Susan and Dorothy; and grandsons Shane and Michael Shane. Frank is survived by his sister Jean (Frank) Unfred; wife Margaret Snodgrass; sons Frederick, Kevin, William and Paul; daughters June (Ernie) Fernandez and Dorothy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and adopted son Danny Boy Branodes.
