Description	:	Mr. Fred C. Forney, 79, a retired farmer, died at 9:30 o'clock Sunday night at the Lindsborg Hospital. He had been ill only a few hours. Born in Deep River, Iowa, 18 February 1878, he came to Kansas with his parents, George and Julia Longstrath Forney, the same year. His parents homesteaded a farm in the Langley community, west of Marquette. On 12 December 1897, he was married to Ona Belle Wood of Little River, she died 21 May 1950. Forney, 79, a retired farmer, died at 9:30 o'clock Sunday night at the Lindsborg Hospital. He had been ill only a few hours. Born in Deep River, Iowa, 18 February 1878, he came to Kansas with his parents, George and Julia Longstrath Forney, the same year. The family live in Great Falls Montana several years before returning to Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Forney moved to Marquette after he retired from farming in 1944. Surviving are one son, Leo of Great Falls Montana; and two daughters; Mrs. Bert Robertson, Great Falls and Mrs Carl Oberg of Lindsborg. 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. One son and one daughter also preceded him in death. Funeral services Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Marquette Methodist Church with Rev. Merlin Norman, officiating.
