Read More	Glasco Sun, April 30, 1936, page 1: Fredrick Dimanowski Fredrick was born to John Dimanowski and his wife, Esther Elizabeth Sukau, October 16, 1863, in Bornitz, near Ault Chriseburg Kreas Rasenburg Rez Morienvaden in West Prussia, Germany. He was christened in the Lutheran church in Finkenstein. He attended school in Germany before starting with his father and mother and sister on a sailing vessel for America. He celebrated his ninth birthday on the sea and landed in New York on Nov. 25, 1872. They went to live in Thresasia, New York, where his father, who had been a musician in Germany, found work in an iron ore mine. They soon left New York and went in search of a home farther west. They lived one winter in Ellinwood, Kans. Then they came to Mitchell Co., in 1874 where he bought a homestead right where they made their home. Fred started herding cattle for Mr. Ottman. At the age of fifteen, he obtained work at John Coursen's where he carried the mail on horse back from Coursens Grove to Lincoln Center and Concordia. This was called the Pony Express. There were very few bridges and only cow paths for roads. This meant many long cold rides but he knew he would find a welcome and warm fire at the Coursen home. Later he worked for James Robertson a few years. June 5th, 1889 he was married to Addelina Mary Horn and with the exception of a few months lives on the farm where he died --- April 21, 1936 at 3:30 o'clock. To this union three children were born, Carl Frederick, Irene Louise, and Frieda Esther. Although he was deprived of his son in his later years his sons-in-law were real sons to him, willing to do anything they could to help him after his health failed him. He leaves his wife, two daughters, five grandchildren, Esther Maxine, Glenn William, and L.F. Klein; Blanche Irene and James Frederick Critchfield and an aged aunt, Mrs. Augusta Lienen and family. (Also) Oscar Von Vergbitzkie and family in Danzig, Germany; a cousin, Mrs. Mina Lange and family of Beloit, Kansas; Edward Livingood who has made his home with him during his last year and Noble Critchfield lived with Mr. Dimanowski when he was a boy and since that time he has carefully guarded his welfare. Besides these he leaves other relatives and many friends. Life's span is run. The Book of Earthly Life is closed. The funeral services were held in his home Friday, April 24, 1936 at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C.D. Gambriell. Pall Bearers: John Coursen, Gene McCollough, Noble Spicher, Joe Louthan. Honorary pall bearers: William Gilliland, John Rathbun, Arthur Selleck, Fred Wauzer, Jas. Robertson. Interment was made in the Glasco Cemetery.
