Description	:	Frieda May Truss, the only child of Elmer Throne and Della Dry Throne was born September 7, 1910 on the family farm four miles west of Chester, NE, and passed away at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS, on December 26, 1998 at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 19 days. Read More	Frieda May Truss, the only child of Elmer Throne and Della Dry Throne was born September 7, 1910 on the family farm four miles west of Chester, NE, and passed away at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS, on December 26, 1998 at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 19 days. Frieda attended Cotner College in Lincoln where she earned a BA degree in education. She began her teaching career at the Crackerbox Country School between Chester and Byron. Frieda continued to teach for more than five decades. She was greatly loved and respected by her pupils, many of whom have fond memories of her teaching. Frieda united with the Chester Church of Christ as a young woman and gave herself to serving the Lord by word and deed. She was church pianist and organist and served many years as deaconess. She was also an active member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. All her life she worked with women's organizations having been a 50+ year member of The Better Homes Club, member of Eastern Star and leader in the 4-H clubs. Frieda regularly assisted at the Chester Senior Center when her health permitted. A graduate of Chester High School in 1928, she celebrated her 70th anniversary at this past year's alumni banquet. On June 25, 1936, Frieda married Ray Truss from Giltner, NE, and they set up residence on a farm nearby. They lived there for the next 10 years. Marilyn Jo, Lorna Kay and Linda Rae were all born at the farm outside Giltner, NE. In 1948 Ray and Frieda and the three girls moved to the family farm west of Chester. While living there a son, Delmer Wayne, was born. Ray and Frieda continued to live on the farm until Ray's death in July, 1974. She sold the farm in 1978 and had a house built in Chester, where she lived until her passing. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Della Throne, and husband, Ray. She is survived by her four children: Mrs. William Locke (Marilyn Jo), Ft. Dodge, IA, Lorna Kay Spoczynski, Roselle, IL, Mrs. Gary Mofson (Linda Rae), Rowland Heights, CA, and Delmer Truss and his wife Diane, Palos Heights, IL; 11 grandchildren, Mark and Dale Miller, Judi Miller Smith, Kari Miller Saunders, Roberta and Tom Spoczynski, Lori Spoczynski Heinis, Robin Mofson Paerels, Michael Mofson and Scott and Craig Truss; 8 great-grandchildren, Justine and Janell Smith, Jessica and Stephen Saunders, Lauren and Katlyn Heinis, Taylor and Rebekah Paerels, and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 30, 1998, at 2 o'clock p.m. at the Community Bible Church, Chester, Nebraska, conducted by Pastor Ray Berry. Mrs. John Gillett and Mrs. Wilbert Crouse sang and Mrs. Arlys Dill was the organist. Casket bearers were Michael Mofson, Scott Truss, Tom Spoczynski, James Saunders, Dale Miller, Craig Truss, Dave Smith and John Paerels. Interment was made at the Chester Cemetery, Chester, NE. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home, Chester, was in charge of arrangements.
