Description	:	George C. Cochran, 63 years of age, one of the well known and substantial citizens and farmers of this county, died at his home south of Tipton at 10:20 o'clock, Thursday morning. His death ended an illness of almost four year, and was caused from bladder, kidney and liver trouble. His death ended an illness of almost four year, and was caused from bladder, kidney and liver trouble. For the past several months Mr. Cochran waged a losing fight against a disease which sapped his strength, but bore his suffering and illness with Christian fortitude. With the passing of George C. Cochran the community loses one of its best citizens. Although he will be sorely missed by loved ones and many friends, his passing secured for him relief from intense suffering which he had experienced for some time. The body was removed to the Leatherman Funeral home for preparation and was taken back to the home south of Tipton, just east of the Newkirk crossing, to lie in state until the hour of the services. Friends may call at the home at any time. George C. Cochran was born and reared in the community in which he died. His parents were Thomas and Leah (Newkirk) Cochran, of Jefferson county, who located in Cicero township south of Tipton in 1855. He was born May 9, 1870. The son grew to manhood on the farm, learning from his father the best agricultural methods, and was also noted as a stock man. He received an education in the schools of this township, and on March 28, 1894, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Potts, daughter of John and Eliza Potts, deceased. The good wife, who has been attending his every want during his long illness, and four children survive. The children are Clintie W Cohran and Bessie (Cochran) Wiggins, both of Tipton; Mrs. Margaret Bristol, of Chicago; and John Cochran, of Muncie. He is also survived by a brother, James R. Cochran and a sister, Mrs Robert Devault, of Indianapolis. Two grandchildren also survive.
