Trevilian On Friday, November 22nd, at 6:30 a.m., at his home near Plain View, King and Queen county, the earthly life of George E. Trevilian came to a close. Mr. Trevilian was in the seventieth year of his age. He was born in Gloucester county, but had lived in King and Queen for the past 44 years. In his early manhood Mr. Trevilian was married to Miss Edith May Atkins, who survives him. He leaves also four children; Mrs. W. C. Lamberth, Mrs. C. B. Roane, G. V. Trevilian, and George E.. Trevilian, Jr., two sons-in-laws, two daughters-in-laws - formally Miss Salome Post and Miss Ethel Colliers, four grandchildren - Vernon Trevilian, Hoyle Roane, Ethelbert and Catherine Trevilian; one brother - C. A. Trevilian, of Danville, and many nieces and nephews. On Sunday afternoon, November 24th, his body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Shackleford's M. E. Church. The pastor, Rev. F. W. England, and the Rev. J. R. Laughton, of West Point, conducted the services. The large crowd of friends and many beautiful floral tributes attested the esteem in which he was held. The active pall bearers were: W. H. Trevilian, H. A. Burton, B. C, Burton, Jim Gray and Boyd Hart. The honorary pall bearers included Russell Bland, H. S. Bland, Robert Bland, Capt. Garrett Post, Bennett Bowden, Bernard Wolffe, John Milby, Lunsford Milby, M. V. Kerns, Martin Kerns, Ernest Lamberth, J. M. Corr, Wilkie Collins, Woodland Roane, Willie Post, T. J. Stark. Mr. Trevilian was a member of Shackleford's church and was for sometimes secretary of the Sunday School. As an acquaintance and friend, he was hospitable, cheerful and true, as husband and father he was faithful and loving, and as a citizen he was upright, loyal and true to his convictions
