Mr Miller was a post commander of the local post. Mr Miller, who was 68 years of age, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, March 23, at the Veterans Administration hospital in Denver following an eight month illness. He was hospitalized in Denver for some time during the winter and again entered the V.A. hospital on March 17. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. Born July 11, 1896, in Yutan, Nebr., George Henry Miller came to Holyoke in 1910, settling on a ranch west of Holyoke. He moved to Haxton in 1952 and had resided in Holyoke since 1963. He was united in marriage to Ruth Homan in Denver on August 24, 1928. To this union four children were born, all of whom survive. During World War I, Mr. Miller served in the 76th Infantry division. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran church, Holyoke, Fred C. Lewman American Legion Post No. 137 of Haxtun, Past Commanders' Club, charter member of the Paoli Gun Club and a member of the Northeast Colorado Cattlemen's Association. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, Holyoke; three sons, Leland, Paoli, Gerald, Holyoke and Richard, of Denver; one daughter, Lena May, Mrs. Wayne Elmquist, Paoli; two brothers, Albert Miller of Inglewood, Calif. and Julius Miller, Huntington Beach, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs Annie Bulter, Orchard, Nebr., Mrs. Marie McCone of Nogales, Ariz., Mrs Henrietta Lane, Mrs. Margaret Moulton and Mrs. Alice Herb all of Denver; 13 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Proceeding Mr. Miller in Death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heine Miller, one brother Herbert Miller and three sisters, Katie Russell, Annie Butler and Minnie Matzen.
