Mrs. Matzen, who was 73 years of age, passed away Tuesday, November 28, in Denver. She had been in failing health for some time. She was the mother of Mrs. Fred Church of Holyoke and sister of Mrs Floyd Waln, Holyoke. A daughter of Heine J. and Maggie D. Miller, Minnie Margaret Miller was born April 13, 1888 at Yutan, Nebraska. On January 20, 1909 she was united in marriage with Otto Matzen at Yutan. Mr. and Mrs. Matzen moved to this community in 1917 and established their home on a farm northeast of Holyoke. After Mr. Matzen passed away, Mrs Matzen continued to reside in Holyoke until 1947 when she moved to Denver to make her home. Survivors include one son, Glenn A. Matzen, Waianae, Hawaii; three daughters, Velma A. (Mrs. Fred) Church, Holyoke, Ardell M. (Mrs. Duke) Quinnell, Wheat Ridge, and LaVerna M. Matzen, Denver; three brothers, Albert H. and Julius H. Miller, Inglewood, California, and George Miller of Haxtun; six sisters, Mrs Anna Beulter, Orchard, Ne., Mrs Elsie Waln,Holyoke, Mrs. Henrietta Lane , Mrs. Margaret Moulton and Alice Herb all of Denver and Mrs Marie McCone, Tucson, Az.; Seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Proceding Mrs. Matzen in death were her husband Otto; one brother, Herbert, and one sister, Mrs Katie Russell. Out of town relatives who attended the services were: Mrs Anna Beutler and Edward Beutler, Orchard, Ne.; Albert Miller, Inglewood Ca.; Mr. and Mrs Percy V. McCone, Tucson, Az.; Mr. and Mrs George Miller, Leland Miller and Mrs Gerald Miller, Haxtun; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herb, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lane Sr., Mrs. Margaret Moulton, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Lyman, Mrs. Edgar Lorey, Mrs. John Lampshire, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gonzales, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lane Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Gene Church and Miss Helen Church, all of Denver; Mr. and Mrs. Val Sanger, Ovid; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Elmquest and Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Reese, Chappell, Ne. and Mr, and Mrs. Donald Church, Greeley.
