Description	:	Heine J. Miller, sailed to the United States in 1865 at the young age of 16, he worked his way over to the US and sailed on the "Sue via" passenger ship landing in New York, he was not detained at Ellis Island as he was an employee of the ship and was free to travel. Heine received his citizenship papers in Newark, County of Essex, State of New Jersey on October 29, 1892. Heine joined the Mason Lodge in Momence, Illinois on May 25, 1878. His next move was to Yutan, Nebr., Heine worked as a carpenter and soon bought a farm. November 1, 1884 he married Margaretha Backens and to this union four childern were born, twins, Annie and Katy, Minnie and Albert. Margaretha died on August 25, 1890. His second wife was Magdalena Eggers born in Germany on September 27, 1868, sailed to the United States in 1887. Heine and Magdalena were married April 18, 1893 and lived and farmed in Yutan Ne. and to this union eight childern were born, Elsie, George, Julius, Herbert, Henrietta, Margaret, Marie and Alice Miller. The family moved to Holyoke Colorado in 1910 and purchased the "Living Water Ranch" it was 720 acres of grazing and farmland. The brand was also included in the sale of the ranch it was a "C" being in reversed and made a quarter circle, this brand was handed down to through four generations, son George, grandson Leland, and on to Leland's sons, Mitch and Mike Miller. Heine built many of the bridges in Holyoke and Phillips County, The first seven years the Millers farmed were a total loss, they were either burned out, hailed out and then the dust bowl. One of the family evening past time was playing cards. Heine served on the School Board and was the first to own an automobile, it was a 1917 Oakland.
