Read More	The Clifton News Thursday March 8. 1923 Page 1 Mr. George L'Ecuyer George L'Ecuyer, Sr., who has been in poor health for the last three years, passed away at his home in Clyde, Kan., March 3, 1923 at 12:35 a.m. Mr. L'Ecuyer was born in Kankakee, Illinois, May 3, 1857, and was 65 years and 10 months old at the time of his death. He came to Kansas with his parents, Halaire and Catherine L'Ecuyer, at the age of 14 years and settled on a homestead six miles southeast of Clyde. He was united in marriage to Mary St. Onge on May 14, 1877 and to this union were born twelve children, seven girls and five boys, four of the children dying in early childhood. He is survived by his wife, eight children, four brothers, three sisters, and fourteen grandchildren. They were all here at the time of his death except three brothers, who were unable to be present. The children are George Jr., of Clifton, Kan., Albert, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Peter, of Clifton, Mrs. P. T. Nault, of Ames, Kan., Miss Celene, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. A. E. Quinette and Mrs. Tate McGee, both of Shawnee, Okla., and Josephine, who is still at home. The brothers and sisters are Fortuna, of Brown Valley, Minn.; Alfred, of Spokane Wash.; Elude, of Visalia, Calif.; Henry of Clyde; Mrs. Nelson Gay of St. Joseph, Kan.; Mrs. Arthur Hamel and Mrs. Delphine Brosseau, both of Clyde. Mr. L'Ecuyer lived for a number of years near Clifton, until two years ago March 4, when he and his family moved to Clyde to make their home. Funeral services were held Monday, March 5, at the St. John's Catholic Church of Clyde, Kan., at a requiem high mass conducted by Father Spoorenberg, parish priest, Father Brown, of Clifton, and Father Frazer, of St. Joseph, Kan. Interment was made in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. Clyde Voice Republican.
