Description	:	(KS) Haddam Clipper-Leader July 19, 1945 Henry L'Ecuyer, youngest son of Hilary and Catherine L'Ecuyer, was born on his father's homestead one mile east and one mile north of St. Joe, May 13, 1873, and passed away in Selma, California at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ted Simpson, who gave him all the loving care it was possible to give. He was 72 years, one month and 17 days. He was married to Mathilde Villeneuve (also spelled Vinlove) January 29, 1895, and to them was born 9 children. He was 72 years, one month and 17 days. He was married to Mathilde Villeneuve (also spelled Vinlove) January 29, 1895, and to them was born 9 children. One daughter, Eva, died at the age of 4 in 1900. The mother died in 1911. He always lived in Cloud County until 5 years ago when he went to California. Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Martin Kock, Clyde; Mrs. John Solback, Clifton; Patrick L'Ecuyer; Haddam; Mrs. Joe Kieffer, Belleville; Alfonse L'Ecuyer, San Luis Obispo, California; Lawrence L'Ecuyer, Kankakee, Ill., Mrs. Ted Simpson and Raymond L'Ecuyer of Selma, California. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Arthur Hamel of Clyde and 48 grandchildren, five grandsons being in the service of their country. Mr. L'Ecuyer was a lifelong Catholic and died fortified with the last sacrament of the church. There was a short service held in Selma before leaving for his old home. The remains were brought to Clyde to the Martin Kock home and the funeral services were held in St. John's Catholic church Saturday. Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The pallbearers were all nephews, Alex Gay, George L'Ecuyer of Day, George L. L'Ecuyer of Clifton. Ralph Brosseau, George Brosseau and Alcid Odette. Clyde Republican
