George Stroh was born May 6, 1865 in Saratoff (sic) Russia and was called to eternity, March 10, 1925, at the age of 59 years, 10 months and four days. In 1887 George Stroh married Catharin Margaretha Burngardt. This union was blessed with three children - Kate, Maria and Carl. Maria and Carl died in early childhood, Mrs Kate Mohr was present at the funeral. She lives in Chester. In 1892 Mr. Stroh came to America. He first lived at Geneva Nebraska, then at Byron Nebraska where his first wife died. There he married Mrs. Emma Told (sic). She had one child, George Told (sic). With his second wife he had seven children. John died in childhood. Mrs. Leotha Canning of Wyoming, Mrs. Maria Landis of Reynolds Nebraska; Mrs. Elizabeth Walker of Omaha Nebraska; David, William and Rubin Stroh. Funeral services were conducted by Rev A. Reimnitz at the home and the Lutheran church and interment made in the Chester Cemetery. "Just as I am - Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon; cleanse, relieve Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come! I come."
