Description	:	William Stroh was born Feb. 1, 1911, at Chester, Neb., to George and Emma Stroh. He died Oct. 2, 1985, at his home in Fairbury, Neb., at the age of 74 years, eight months and one day. He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran Church at Chester, Ne. On Feb. 4, 1935, he married Nona Ray at Aurora, Neb., and to them was born one son. Read More	William Stroh was born Feb. 1, 1911, at Chester, Neb., to George and Emma Stroh. He died Oct. 2, 1985, at his home in Fairbury, Neb., at the age of 74 years, eight months and one day. He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran Church at Chester, Ne. On Feb. 4, 1935, he married Nona Ray at Aurora, Neb., and to them was born one son. The family lived in the Chester and Byron areas where he farmed. On Feb. 6, 1949, he was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Byron, Nebr., by the Rev. Paul Weltner. He and his wife became members of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury in March 1985. Following his active years in farming, Bill and his wife retired to Fairbury. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Nona of Fairbury; son, Jim, and his wife, Carolyn, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sisters, Leotha Canning of Laramie, Wyo., Elizabeth Walker and Marie Landis of Fairbury; grandchildren, Linda Blair of Cheyenne and Curtis Stroh of the University of Wyoming. Services were Oct. 5 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury with the Rev. Gary Werling officiating. Special music by Mary Johnson, Sharon Scarrow and Geraldine Siemsen. Burial in the Chester Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Landis, Howard Darrow, Kenneth Ray, Larry Ray, John Howell and Mikel Hanson. Those attending the service from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Ray of Chester, John Ray of Pocatello, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Max Ray and Karen of Hebron, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ray of Belleville, Kan., Mrs. Duane Hendrickson of DeSoto, Texas, Kathy Westhoff of Muskogee, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hammans of Hastings, Mrs. Dave Mardjanov of Shelton, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stroh and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Blair of Cheyenne, Wyo.
