Read More	The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, June 24, 1943; pg. 2 Vanous - Stroh Miss Iola Gayle Vanous, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Vanous of Cuba, and David Stroh, son of Mrs. George Stroh of Chester, were united in marriage at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, June 12, at Hebron. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Leamen of Chester. A 9 o'clock wedding supper was served at the Hill cafe at Chester. A pink and white wedding cake formed the centerpiece at the table. The following guests were present: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Leamen and daughter, Esther, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wesel and daughters, Dixie Lee and Rozann, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stroh and son, Jimmy, Mrs. Frances Picha and daughter, Lillian, and the honor guests Mr. and Mrs. David Stroh. The couple plan to make their home near Barnard. ============================================== The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, December 10, 1981; pg. 13 David (Dob) Stroh, son of George and Emma Frye Stroh, was born at Chester, Nebr. January 22, 1906 and passed away at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital in Hebron, Nebr., December 4, 1981, at the age of 75 years, ten months and 12 days. He received his education in the Chester Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Iola Gayle Vanous on June 12, 1943, at Hebron. The couple had two children. He spent his entire life in Chester except during their early marriage they lived in Lincoln and Barnard, Kansas. They moved to Chester in 1945. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Leslie, one granddaughter, two brothers and one half brother. He is survived by his wife, Iola of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Reginald (Helen) Griffin; one brother, William (Bill) Stroh of Fairbury, Nebr.; three sisters, Mrs. Leotha Canning of Laramie, Wyo., Mrs. Elizabeth Walker and Mrs. Marie Landis, both of Fairbury, Nebr.; one half sister, Mrs. Katherine Mohr of Chester; one grandson, Don Lee. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ of Chester on December 7 conducted by Pastor Lacey Joiner. Interment was in Chester Cemetery.
