George was born on September 21, 1948, the son of Henry W. and Vivian V. (Hester) Lange in Waceika, Illinois. He attended school in the East Buchanan school system. Lange, 55, of Waverly, Iowa passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. George was born on September 21, 1948, the son of Henry W. and Vivian V. (Hester) Lange in Waceika, Illinois. He attended school in the East Buchanan school system. Following his education he worked for Otto Steuri as a farm hand in Center Junction, Iowa. In Center Junction, he met his special friend, Jean ''Fritz'' Topping, who has been his companion for almost 34 years. The couple moved to the Waverly area in 1970, where George was employed by the Irwing F. Jensen Company. He later became employed by Escort Toppers in Janesville and the Henke's for 14 years. He worked for Feather-Lite for a short time and at the time of his death, he was employed at Midwest Pro-Fab Inc. in Cedar Falls, Iowa as a fabricated welder. George enjoyed tinkering with TV's, lawn mowers, a great mechanic, sewing, just a jack of all trades. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren . Survivors are his special friend, Jean ''Fritz'' Topping of Waverly, Iowa; daughters, Brandi Sue Lange of Waverly, Sandy (Steve) Bell of Ionia, Iowa, Janet (Richard) Lemmer of Center Junction, Iowa, Rosie (Daryl) Folkers of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sheila Keseberg of Center Junction, Iowa, Becky (Bryan) Smith of Greene, Iowa, Virginia Shatzer of Hampton, Iowa and Kathy Phillip of Waterloo, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; 2 brothers, Neil (Marilyn) Lange of Omaha, Nebraska and Dan (Sandy) Lange of Independence, Iowa; 2 sisters, Judy (Darrell) Phelps of Rogers, Arkansas and Emily (Dave) Phelps of Anamosa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2004 at 2:30 pm at the Funeral Home in Denver, Iowa with Pastor Robert Ross of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Warren Evangelical Cemetery, Waverly, Iowa. Friends may call from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday and from 9:00 am until service time on Monday at the Funeral Home in Denver, Iowa. Memorials may be left to the direction of the family.
