Description	:	George W. Bedwell, 79, of Spring Hill was found dead at his home Saturday afternoon, where he had suddenly suffered a heart attack. Bedwell had not been well for some time. A neighbor, Oren Alexander, had been with him for a short time before and had gone to town on an errand for Mr. Bedwell. When he returned he found the body where he had fallen near the door. Bedwell, 79, of Spring Hill was found dead at his home Saturday afternoon, where he had suddenly suffered a heart attack. Bedwell had not been well for some time. A neighbor, Oren Alexander, had been with him for a short time before and had gone to town on an errand for Mr. Bedwell. When he returned he found the body where he had fallen near the door. A daughter, Nora Kellar of Des Moines, and sons, Ned of Los Angeles, and Harry (George Harry) of Fremont, remain. Services will be held Wednesday, May 11, at 2 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home in Carlisle, interment in the Webb cemetery northwest of Spring Hill. Mr. Bedwell operated a blacksmith shop in Spring Hill for many years. He was there through most of its active days as a trading center, stayed when it became a coal mining camp, and after that took care of blacksmithing trade as long as he was able to work. He had a wide acquaintance over the county. He was known far and wide for his fiddling at country dances. More than ten years ago he made the statement that he had fiddled for more than 1,500 country dances. # # # Peterson-Richardson Funeral Home records - Geo was born June 20, 1858.
