She was born April 11, 1846, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.D. McGlothlin, 1615 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa, August 3, 1916, being seventy years, three months and twenty-two days old. She was married to James M. Utsler, December 7, 1865. McGlothlin, 1615 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa, August 3, 1916, being seventy years, three months and twenty-two days old. She was married to James M. Utsler, December 7, 1865. This union was blessed with one child, Mrs. J.D. McGlothlin, of Des Moines. Five grandchildren also survive as follows: Mrs. Cassie Staley, Nora, Arthur, Carrie and Ralph McGlothlin, of Des Moines. She also leaves one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Amanda Lockridge, of Norwalk, Thomas Bedwell, of Indianola, and George Bedwell of Spring Hill. Sister Utsler united with the Baptist church thirty-five years ago and was faithful to death. She was patient and thoughtful during the days of her suffering. God was good to her and she in return was faithful to Him. The loved ones were kind and good to her during her declining days, yet God saw fit to take her unto Himself. She will be missed but earth's loss will be Heaven's gain. The funeral services were held in the Christian church in Norwalk on Friday afternoon, August 4, and were conducted by Rev. W. C. Cole, of the Capitol Hill Christian Church, of Des Moines. Interment was in the Webb Cemetery.
