Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. ~~~~ "The Fairfield Ledger", Wednesday, February 18, 2009, Page 8 MINEART, Georgia Helen -- Georgia Helen MINEART, 73, formerly of Brighton, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa. A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Saints Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung and the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the church, followed by Prayers for a Christian Wake. Memorials to Brighton Volunteer First Responders, United Presbyterian Home in Washington or Brighton Chamber of Commerce may be left at the church or may be mailed to the family at 1454 Highway 1 & 78, Brighton 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. MINEART was born Sept. 10, 1935, on the family farm in rural Brighton, the daughter of Edgar Warren and Margaret Eileen MARTIN WISE. She married Harold MINEART Aug. 16, 1955, in Denver, Colo. He died Jan. 20, 2009. Mrs. MINEART graduated from Brighton High School in 1953. She attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon for two years. She lived in rural Brighton all her life until 2006 when she and her husband moved to Washington. She had worked at Advance Ross, McCleery-Cumming Calendar Factory, Brighton Café, Lake Darlington Inn, Brighton Locker, Mineart Appliance and Brighton Appliance. She also helped her husband on the farm. For many years, she sang at weddings and other occasions. She and a friend established the first auction held at St. Joseph's Church in 1985. Mrs. MINEART was a member of Saints Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain. She was a member of Chapter AQ PEO, Krony Krew, CCC and American Legion Auxiliary. She also helped with the food stand at Brighton Whoopee Days. She was a member of St. Joseph Altar and Rosary and sang in the choir. Her hobbies included playing golf, sewing, cooking, playing cards, shopping, reading, landscaping and visiting with friends and relatives. Survivors include three children, Nancy ADRIAN and husband Robert of Brighton, Joe MINEART and wife Barbara of Marion and Lisa CLARK and husband Kevin of Wayland; five grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy AHRENS of Williamsburg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
