A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Saints Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung and the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. Visitation with the family will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the church, followed by Prayers for a Christian Wake at 5 p.m. Memorials for the Brighton Volunteer First Responders, Saints Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain or United Presbyterian Home/UP with Kids Daycare in Washington may be left at the church or may be mailed to the family at 1454 Hwy 1 and 78, Brighton 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements. Mr. MINEART was born Sept. 16, 1927, on the family farm in rural Brighton, the son of Henry W. and C. Grace LAMANSKY MINEART. He married Georgia WISE Aug. 16, 1955, in Denver, Colo. Mr. MINEART graduated from Brighton High School in 1946. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War from 1951-1953. Mr. MINEART farmed near Brighton until his retirement in 1997. He also was a substitute rural mail carrier in the Wayland and Brighton areas for nearly 10 years and was a fulltime carrier from 1983-1993. He and his wife moved into Washington in 2006. He was a member of Saints Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain and National Rural Letter Carriers Association. He was a long-time member of Brighton Chamber of Commerce and barbequed the meat for Brighton Whoopee Days using a secret recipe. His hobbies included mushroom hunting, tinkering with machinery, visiting, drinking coffee and working with his Model D2 Caterpillar. Survivors include his wife; three children, Nancy ADRIAN and husband Robert of Brighton, Joe MINEART and wife Barbara of Marion and Lisa CLARK and husband Kevin of Wayland; five grandchildren; two brothers, David MINEART of Norwalk and Leroy MINEART of Brighton; and one sister, Margaret ANDERSON of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Christine McCLINTIC and Evelyn GEVOCK; and six brothers, Maurice, Maynard, Sylvester, Curtis, John and Raymond.
