She had been in ill health since last November. Mrs. Gerturde Marie Roberts, was born in Wabash county Feb. 17, 1910 to Elmer and Abbie (Grist) Slagal. She had been in ill health since last November. Mrs. Gerturde Marie Roberts, was born in Wabash county Feb. 17, 1910 to Elmer and Abbie (Grist) Slagal. About 19 years ago she was united in marriage to Leonard Thomas. Of their four children three are living, Rosanna, who is confined to the Irene Byron sanitoriuim, Fort Wayne, George and Edna Thomas at home. She was later married to Elza (Doc) Roberts who with their one daughter, Beverly Ann, also at home, survives. Other survivors are the mother, Mrs. Abbie Slagal Hettmansperger, a grandfather, Dave Slagal, five brothers and sisters, Herbert and John Slagal, Mrs. Houston Schaaf, all of Wabash, Mrs. Bernard Riek, Elkhart, and Mrs. Robert Averitt, Michigan City; two half-sisters, Mrs. Alvah Beitzel, Wabash, and Miss Katherine Garner, Indianapolis, and one half-brother, Frank Hettmansperger, Las Vegas, Nev. There are also two step-children, Pfc. Dale Roberts, Fort Miles, Del., and Bernice Dean Roberts, Laurel. The decedent was a member of the Lady Eagles, Women of the Moose and the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Wolf Lake. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Wire Funeral home where the body has been taken and where friends may call. The Rev. L.A. Singer, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be in Falls cemetery.
