Read More	Cloud County Cemetery Book, Volume 4, page 153 ******************* Glasco Sun, Thursday, Sept. 21, 1950, page 4: Gladys Dolores Jordan Gladys Dolores Jordan, daughter of Everett and Carrie Jordan, was born on November 3, 1897, near Glasco, Kansas, and departed this life on September 14, 1950. She was graduated from the Glasco High School in 1916, after which she attended the University of Kansas, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. After her graduation from the university in 1921, she taught English in high schools at Mankato; Glen Elder, Minneapolis, and for the last twenty-one years in Wichita. On March 19, 1916, she united by latter with the Methodist church of Glasco, Kansas, under the ministry of Rev. James Taylor. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Association of University Women. Miss Jordan's love of learning, in her honesty of dealing, in her purity of purpose and in her devotion to truth, she was a teacher who will be remembered for the talents of her life which were inspiring to all who knew her. She often sacrificed her personal comfort and welfare that others might be made happy. The memory and influence of her sweet life shall never pass from those who knew her best, but be among the most precious treasurers of life. Miss Jordan was a woman of surprising geniality, even when the physical was so weakened from suffering, her cheerfulness shed a radiance around her. Hers was a disposition that seemed to say in every act, "I expect to pass this way but once, if therefore be only kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow human beings, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." Thus joy is mingled with our sorrow that she was permitted to be with us for a season, and leave so many blessings along her pathway. She is survived by her father, Everett Jordan; one brother, Marvin Jordan, both of Glasco, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs. Mayme Shearer of Wichita, Kansas. The funeral service was held at the Glasco Methodist church Sunday, September 17, 1950, at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev. Hjalmar Larson in charge of the service. He selected his text from the Scripture found in Isaiah 41:10, "Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea I will help thee, yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of thy righteousness." With Mrs. W.E. Miller as accompanist, Miss Patty Carlile and Mrs. Fred Harper sang In the Beautiful Garden of Prayer and Beyond the Sunset. The ladies who had charge of the flowers were Mrs. Chet Halderson and Mrs. Archie Capron. The pallbearers were Messrs. jack Jordan, Joe Cool, Fred Harper, Howard Courtney, Ray Olson and Raymond Kellogg. Interment was in the Glasco cemetery. McDonald Funeral Home was in charge.
