Glenn Edward Blaha was born February 3, 1920, at Chelsea, the son of Joseph and Agnes Sokol Blaha. He received his education in Salt Creek No. 2 country school near his home. He lived on the home place northwest of Belle Plaine and after he retired, he rented out the land, but remained on the farm. He moved to Town House Apartments in Belle Plaine in the fall of 1998 He entered the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab on January 31, 2002. In his younger days, besides farming, he worked in construction and plumbing. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and visits with family and friends. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 35 years, and the Z.C.B.J. Lodge No. 146, Irving. He is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mayme Dvorak, Belle Plaine, and Ollie and Edward Kremanek, Clutier; 10 nieces and nephews and their spouses, Kathleen and Tom Brundage, Cedar Rapids; David and Sharon Kremanek, Marengo; Darrell and Gayle Kremenak, Brooklyn, New York; Charlene and Charles Posekany, Beverly and Pat Douglas, Connie and Craig Hall and Becki and Jim Clemanti, all of Brooklyn; Loras Dvorak and Gary Dvorak, both of Belle Plaine; and Vicki and Kevin Mortensen, Williamsburg; 13 great nieces and nephews; nine great-great nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Milvoy, who was killed in the service on October 2, 1943. Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, was in charge of arrangements.
