Blaha 76, near Chelsea, died Thursday morning March 6, 1969 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a lingering illness. Mr. Blaha was born on June 9, 1893, the son of Michael and Cecilia Matula Blaha. He attended the Salt Creek No. 2 rural: school and later started farming on his father's farm. Mr. Blaha was born on June 9, 1893, the son of Michael and Cecilia Matula Blaha. He attended the Salt Creek No. 2 rural: school and later started farming on his father's farm. On July. 12, 1915 he was united in marriage with Agnes Sokol in Toledo. To the union, four children were born, two sons, Milvoy and Glenn, and two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mayme) Dvorak, and Mrs. Edward (Ollie) Kremanak. He was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge and for many years he was a director and president of the Salt Creek No. 2 rural school. He was a director of the National Cemetery Association for several years and also a director of the rural telephone company. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; a son, Glen, at home; two daughters, Mayme Dvorak, Elberon and Ollie Kremenak, Clutier; seven granddaughters, Kathleen Brundage, Cedar Rapids; Charlene Posekany, Brooklyn, Loras, Beverly, Connie, Vicki, and Becky Dvorak, Elberon; three grandsons: David Kremanek, Cedar Rapids; Darrell Kremanek, Centerville, and Gary Dvorak, Elberon; one great granddaughter, Tammy Posekany. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8, 1969, from Hrabak Funeral Home at Belle Plaine. Rev. Alvin H. Boettcher, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiated. Richard Gatrelle was soloist with Mrs. John Kaloupek as accompanist. Pallbearers were Marvin Shanda, Charles Blaha, Fred Herink, Lester Sokol, Otto Kalina and Ronald Sokol.
