Sterling, well-known and highly regarded resident of the Johnson Creek Road, died within three hours after his return here Wednesday by ambulance from Baltimore. He became ill on Saturday in Baltimore, where he was employed as a guard for the Port of Baltimore. Because of lack of facilities he was unable to enter a hospital in Baltimore for treatment, and when on Tuesday his condition became grave, the Bradshaw Funeral Parlors ambulance was dispatched there to bring him to Crisfield. Arriving here at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, he died about five o'clock. His death was a great shock to family and friends. Mr. Sterling was the son of Mr. Jerome C. Sterling and the late Josephine Sterling, and was 49 years of age. He was a man generally liked by all who knew him. Cheerful and affable, industrious and dependable, Mr. Sterling's company was always enjoyable and his services in demand. He was held in high esteem by relatives and friends alike, who sincerely mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held this Friday afternoon, in Asbury Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. T. Rowlenson. Interment will be in the family plot in Asbury cemetery. Members of the Adult Bible Class of Asbury Church will be pallbearers. He is survived by an only daughter, Mrs. June Yznada, of Washington, D. C., and three brothers, Chas. E., Wilmer T. and Maurice J. Sterling, and one sister, Mrs. Hattie E. Daugherty, all of Crisfield.
