Sterling of Lawsonia died at the McCready Memorial Hospital in this city, shortly before noon Tuesday morning, after undergoing an operation Monday night. She had been in poor health for a number of years. Mrs. Sterling was the wife of Jerome C. Sterling who survives her. Her father was the late Littleton T. Sterling who was drowned at sea many years age. Her mother, Mrs. Sallie Sterling, died on July 18 of this year. She leaves the following children: Mrs. G. She had been in poor health for a number of years. Mrs. Sterling was the wife of Jerome C. Sterling who survives her. Her father was the late Littleton T. Sterling who was drowned at sea many years age. Her mother, Mrs. Sallie Sterling, died on July 18 of this year. She leaves the following children: Mrs. G. Carlyle Daugherty of Crisfield, Charles E., Wilmer and Maurice Sterling of Lawsonia and Granville J. Sterling of Cape Charles. She is also survived by three brothers, L. Wm., J. Tubman and Cornelius L. Sterling and one half-sister, Mrs. Drucilla Moore, all of Lawsonia. She was 66 years of age and was a lifetime resident of the Lawsonia section. She was a member of Asbury M. E. Church and a devout Christian woman. She was possessed of a sweet disposition and a charming personality and was a friend of everybody in the community. Hospitable, loving and kind, her death comes as a great shock and a personal loss to everyone who knew her. Funeral services were held at Asbury church Thursday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. T. J. Sard, and her body was laid to rest in Asbury cemetery to await the resurrection of the just.
