Barrows, 76, for nearly 50 years a resident of this community, died about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brodstone hospital (sic) in Superior following a home accident early Tuesday afternoon. Miss Barrows was found unconscious at 2:25 at the foot of the basement stairs in the Vivian Cole home, where she has resided for many years. Miss Barrows was found unconscious at 2:25 at the foot of the basement stairs in the Vivian Cole home, where she has resided for many years. Portwood went to the home an (sic) found her lying in the basement with a bad cut on the head. She was immediately taken to the hospital but never regained consciousness. Miss Barrows was born in Clay county (sic), near Edgar, April 7, 1879 and moved to Nelson in about 1906. She had been an employee of the Portwood stores here for nearly 35 years. Two brothers, Albert and William, preceded her in death. Funeral services are to be at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the Presbyterian church (sic), with the Reverend Mr. Henry Warren officiating.
