Description	:	Hannah Calista George, daughter of Ealom and Hannah George, was born at the homestead in Republic County, Kansas, on November 18, 1881. She passed away in her 77th year on September 20, 1959, in the Hebron Hospital. She graduated from Chester High School in 1900. She was baptized as a member of the Methodist Church in Chester on July 15 of the same year. Mrs. Duey taught school for the next two years at the Prairie Flower and Ash Grove schools. Read More	Hannah Calista George, daughter of Ealom and Hannah George, was born at the homestead in Republic County, Kansas, on November 18, 1881. She passed away in her 77th year on September 20, 1959, in the Hebron Hospital. She graduated from Chester High School in 1900. She was baptized as a member of the Methodist Church in Chester on July 15 of the same year. Mrs. Duey taught school for the next two years at the Prairie Flower and Ash Grove schools. She was united in marriage to William Parker Duey on April 30, 1902. They established their home the spring of their marriage two miles west of Chester where they lived for 36 years until Will passed away in 1938. Thereafter she lived with members of her immediate family, in her small home in Chester, and at the Blue Valley Lutheran Home. To this union four children were born: Ruth Marie, Grace, Edith, and Beth. Hannah and Will were active in the church and church school of the Chester Methodist Church, as teachers and charter members of the Keystone class. Throughout her later years she continued her interest in education through reading. She often remembered the service of the local public library with appreciation because of the opportunity for reading it provided for her. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Duane Hutchinson at the Chester Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 22, 1959. Mrs. Howard Reed, Mrs. Melvin Crouse, Mrs. Elmer Corbit and Mrs. Donald Eickman sang, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Weary at the organ. Casket bearers were Fred Duey, John Duey, Richard George, Lawrence Sherwood, Raymond Duey and E.J. George. Interment was in the Chester Cemetery, Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge.
