Description	:	William Parker Duey was born in Cumberland county (sic), Pennsylvania, September 4th, 1879. He moved to Thayer county (sic), Nebraska, with his parents, Joseph and Amanda Duey, at the age of seven, where he grew to manhood and has resided continuously since that time. Mr. Duey graduated from the Chester High School in the Class of 1899. On April 30, 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah George. Read More	William Parker Duey was born in Cumberland county (sic), Pennsylvania, September 4th, 1879. He moved to Thayer county (sic), Nebraska, with his parents, Joseph and Amanda Duey, at the age of seven, where he grew to manhood and has resided continuously since that time. Mr. Duey graduated from the Chester High School in the Class of 1899. On April 30, 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah George. They established their home two miles west of Chester, where they have lived the past thirty-six years. To their union four children were born: Ruth Marie, the oldest died in infancy. Mr. Duey is survived by his wife and three daughters: Grace Stroh, of Santa Anna, California; Edith Nesmith of Chester; and Beth Ryan, of San Clemente, California. Other relatives are Jess George, a nephew, who made his home with them and was given the privileges of an education; three sons-in-law, Reuben Stroh, Gene Nesmith and Dan Ryan; one brother, Chas. Duey; a half brother, Blaine Duey; a step-mother, Mrs. Dorothy Duey; three grandchildren, Buddy Ray, Wilma Jean Ray and Richard Nesmith. The death of Mr. Duey was a great shock. He was one of the choice spirits of this community. His interest in Sunday School was manifested by his constant presence. The young people in the church felt that he had an interest in them. His membership in the Methodist church (sic) began in early childhood. At first the accident which he suffered was not regarded as serious. But complications set in and after three weeks in the Patterson hospital (sic), at Belleville, Kans., he departed this life November 20, 1938, at the age of fifty-nine years, two months and sixteen days. Mr. Duey was an ideal husband and father. The bereaved family and relatives have the deepest sympathy of the church and community. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Wednesday, November 23rd, at 2:30 p.m. The funeral message was by his pastor, the Rev. C.G. Ellis. Burial was made in the Chester cemetery (sic). ===== DUEY RITES TODAY William P. Duey, 59 years old, died at Patterson Memorial hospital (sic) Sunday from pneumonia and complications arising from injuries received a month ago when a trailer overturned, breaking his leg. The Rev. Mr. Ellis of Chester will conduct services at 2:30 o'clock this (Wednesday) afternoon at the Methodist church (sic), and interment will be made in the Chester cemetery (sic).
