Schuler of Correctionville officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery under direction of Osborn Funeral Home of Pierson. Mrs. Kissinger died August 10, 1948, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank DeWitt, at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 15 days. Hannah Elizabeth Pearson and her twin sister, Mary Elizabeth, were born January 25, 1857, to Jane and Moses Pearson at the present site of South Sioux City, Nebraska. It was there they resided with other white settlers during the winter, returning to Correctionville in the spring. In 1878 she married William Kissinger. To this union five children were born, two who died in infancy, Ivy Ruring who is also deceased, Clarence of Marysville, Washington, and Mrs. Frank (Cora Belle) DeWitt of Washta. Sixteen years later her husband passed away and she reared her family on the farm southwest of Washta and in Pierson. The past eighteen years were spent with her daughter, Mrs. DeWitt, who cared for her until the end. Her four brothers and sisters preceded her in death a number of years ago. She as a member of the Church of Christ in Pierson. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Frank DeWitt, a son, Clarence of Marysville, Washington, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
