Paine On Saturday, 13 January 1901, Mrs. Hannah Paine. Funeral was held at the home of her son E.A. Paine, Tuesday, conducted by Reverend King. Interment was made Friday at Fairview Cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends. Mrs. Hannah Paine was born in Hillsborough county, New Hampshire, 29 November 1819. At the age of five years, with her parents, moved to the state of Vermont, where her childhood was spent. In 1834, she came west to Geauga county, Ohio. She was married to Barton Friend Paine, 22 April 1842. The first twelve years of her married life were spent in the same house in which her husband was born. In 1854 she, with her husband and family, moved to Warren county, Illinois, where she resided until 1880, when in company with her husband (the children all having grown out of the family nest) came to Furnas county, Nebraska, where they claimed and settled a piece of government land. For several years she enjoyed very poor health, but her kind and pleasant disposition made it a pleasure for her family to administer to her wants. But few live to enjoy so long or more happy married wife. She was the mother of six children, four of whom, with an aged companion, survive her: Ward, Eleazer A. and Mrs. F.M. Scott, of Furnas county, Nebraska and Walter, in Kansas. There could be no kinder mother or more loyal wife. She has gone to rest - but the loved memory of her kind disposition will ever dwell in the hearts of her family and friends.
