Description	:	Hanora Lanigan was born in 1852 in Ohio the first child of Edward Lanigan and Bridget Minitor. She had five siblings Mary Curry half sister, Thomas Edward, David William, Kathryn Elizabeth, and Elizabeth. In 1860, Hanora’s family lived in Loyalhanna, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. When her husband died in 1879, her brother-in-law Daniel Murphy lived with the family and helped Hanora raise the children. She died on April 8,1898 in Clay Township, Shelby Co. Iowa. Patrick Murphy and Hanora Lanigan had the following children: 1. Michael Edward Murphy was born on 13 Nov 1872 in Cass Co, Brighton Township, Iowa. He died on 20 Jun 1963 in Avoca, Pottawattamie, Iowa. He married Anna Gertrude Conroy on 07 Sep 1898 in Atlantic, Cass Co, Iowa.* 2. Thomas Patrick Murphy was born on 11 Feb 1876 in Clay Township, Shelby Co. Iowa. He died on 23 Nov 1951 in Des Moines, Polk Co, Iowa.* 3. Daniel David Murphy was born on 18 Feb 1875. He died on 17 Oct 1954 in Sioux City, Woodbury Co, Iowa. He married Katherin Conroy on September 29, 1903 and she died on May 6,1906. His second wife was Norah Looney. 4. William Martin Murphy was born on 14 Mar 1879 in Clay Township, Shelby Co, Iowa. He died on 01 Jul 1935 in Brighten Township, Cass Co., Iowa. He married Cecilia V McEvoy on 10 Jan 1905 in St. Patrick Catholic Church Walnut, Iowa. * * Children buried in the St Patrick Cemetery DIED, at her home 8 miles northeast of Walnut, on Friday morning, April 8, 1898, Mrs. Hanorah Murphy, age about 45 years, from the effects of cancer. The deceased has lived for many years in the community in which she died, and Was much loved and respected by all her relatives and acquaintances. She leaves four sons to mourn the departure of a good mother and faithful friend. The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church Sunday morning at 11:80 by Rev. Father Dollard, and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery with the usual ceremonies of the church.
