He was born in Jefferson township where he resided with his parents until the Angel of Death called him to his reward. When still a child he was an accomplished musician and with his father and brother often delighted large audiences. He had just completed a course in telegraphy when the fatal illness seized him and confined him to his bed for two years. All that medical care and loving hands could do was done but all to no avail. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Noack and brother Harvey of Chicago and his aged grandmother, Mrs. Emily Noack besides many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from his home in Jefferson township and interment was made in the City cemetery at Guttenberg. The flower girls were Misses Carrie Noack, Francis Miller, Agnes Burr, Wanda Wilkerson, Alfa Moran and Melinda Meyer. The pall bearers were Harold Morley, Howard Noack, Kenneth Kickbush, Clay Noack, Leonard and Archie Moran. We miss thee from our home dear son and brother, We miss thee from our place. Aug. 31, 1874, in Jefferson Twp., the sixth child of P.S. and Emeline Bowman Noack (see their article). Peter m. Laura Morarend March 1, 1900, in Guttenberg. Laura Helen b. March 24, 1878, in Jefferson Twp. to Dietrich and Dorothea Schroeder Morarend (see their article). Peter and Laura both received their education in rural schools. Peter was a carpenter by trade, and worked on road maintenance, as a township assessor, and had a small orchestra, playing the harp and violin. They were the parents of two sons: Harold and Harvey. Harold b. Oct 1903 in Jefferson Twp. where he lived all his life and never married. He was very crippled with arthritis the last five years of his life. Harold d. Nov. 17, 1925. Harvey C. Noack b. July 4, 1901, in Jefferson Twp., Sec. 26. He was a Guttenberg H.S. graduate. A professional musician for many years, Harvey started his career age at eight playing flute and saxophone in the family dance orchestra which played engagements in N.E. Iowa during and after W.W.I. He then went to Cedar Rapids, playing in theatre orchestras in the pre-sound film days. In the early 1920's Harvey studied in Chicago and later spent more than two years studying with famous flutists in Paris, France. His professional work included concert tours with Florence Mac Beth, noted soprano soloist, playing flute obligations in several Chicago appearances of Lily Pons, and membership in the Minneapolis and Chicago symphony orchestras. He was a member of the Chicago opera company orchestra about 25 years. Harvey m. Helen Griffith Sept. 16, 1937. Helen Katherine Griffith b. Aug. 1908 in Elkader to Harry L. and Abbie H. Grannis Griffith (see their article). Helen was employed as a typesetter at the Griffith family newspaper in Elkader. After Harvey's death, Helen was proofreader at the University press in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They had no children. The Noacks lived on an acreage in Jefferson Twp., Sec. 26. Laura d. April 9, 1961. Peter d. March 20, 1962. Harvey d. April 10, 1963 and Helen d. May 2, 1971. Buried in the Guttenberg City cemetery.
