Description	:	Harold Dean Mosteller was the son of Phillip Arl Mosteller and Julia Miriam Sowle Mosteller, he was born near DuBois, Nebraska. He was married to Mollie Leone (Turner) Farwell on December 31, 1948. Through the years he served with love and guidance as the father figure to his three step-children. He sang with the Barber Shop Singers at Seneca, Kansas. He joined the DuBois Methodist Church in 1949, transferring from Pleasant Valley. He received his 50 years pin from the DuBois Knights of Pythias Lodge in 1973. He spent almost all of his life farming near DuBois, except during the years of 1937 to 1940 when he worked in Wyoming. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife and an infant brother. Other siblings: Marjorie, Ralph and Lyle. Interment was in the DuBois Cemetery, DuBois, Nebraska. ******************************************************************************************************** OBITUARY- "Colonel" Mosteller Dead At Age 78 Harold Dean Mosteller, well known in the DuBois community as "Colonel" or "Deacon", eldest son of Phillip A. and Julia Mosteller, was born September 8, 1902, near DuBois. He passed away May 29, 1981, at Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, at the age of 78 years. Harold attended Prairie Star School for his early education. He graduated from 10th grade at DuBois High School and from 12th grade at the Pawnee High School. With the exception of working in Wyoming during the years of 1937 to 1940, his entire life was spent farming near DuBois. He joined the DuBois Methodist Church August 21, 1949, transferring from Pleasant Valley. His community activities included: his church, serving as President of the Community Club and DuBois High School Alumni Association. He also sang with the Barber Shop Singers at Seneca, Kansas. In 1973 he received his 50-year Life Membership in the DuBois Knights of Pythias Lodge. On December 31, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mollie (Turner) Farwell. Through the years he served with love and guidance as the father figure to his three step-children. Later he was a wonderful grandfather to their children, always taking time to answer questions and play games. Preceding him in death were: his wife, parents, and an infant brother. Surviving are: his three step-children, Mrs. Gordon (Avis) Uhri, Van Nuys, California; Lyle Farwell, DuBois, and Mrs. Robert (Reva) Losey of Fairfax, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy (Wissler) Farwell, and a son-in-law, Robert Losey; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are: one sister, Mrs. Emil (Marjorie) Lair; two brothers, Ralph of Scottsbluff, and Lyle of Fort Laramie, Wyoming; one nephew, three nieces and numerous great nieces, nephews and many friends. Fuenral services for "Colonel" were held Monday, June 1, at the United Methodist Church in DuBois, with Rev. T. J. Fraser officiating. Mrs. Ron Droge was the vocalist, accompanied by Mrs. T. J. Fraser. Serving as acting pallbearers were Floyd Yoble, Robert Droge, Art Meier, Dean Yoble, Lumir Rakosnik, and Edward Bohm. Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Triska, Walter Britt, Roy Kerl, Max Church, Dean Lair, and Lloyd Popelka. Interment was in the DuBois Cemetery.
