Description	:	Harold Glen Crouse, the son of William Jacob Crouse and Anna (Depke) Crouse was born May 12, 1919 at Chester, Nebr. and passed away Jan. 23, 2003 at his home in Chester at the age of 83 years, 8 months, 11 days. Harold grew up and attended the local rural public school District #58 near Chester graduating from Chester High School, Chester, Nebr. He then attended the Lincoln Institute of Aeronautics, Lincoln, Nebr. and then accepted employment with the Curtis Wright Corp. in Buffalo, N.Y. working there as an aircraft assembler for three years. Harold grew up and attended the local rural public school District #58 near Chester graduating from Chester High School, Chester, Nebr. He then attended the Lincoln Institute of Aeronautics, Lincoln, Nebr. and then accepted employment with the Curtis Wright Corp. in Buffalo, N.Y. working there as an aircraft assembler for three years. Harold served with the United States Army Infantry during W.W. II. He was a scout attached to the 79th Infantry Division and served in the Rhineland Campaign of Central Europe. He was stationed in the combat zone for three months. Following his discharge, he returned to Chester. On July 22, 1943 in Chester, Nebr., he was united in marriage to Helen Maxine Davenport, and to this union four children were born, Bruce, Linda, Trudy and Roger. Harold operated the family farm which had been in the family for 120 years. Harold was a member of the Masonic Lodge #43 and the Hebron American Legion Post. He was a Master Mason for over 60 years and had received the Bronze Jordan Medal. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Crouse, and his brother, Melvin. Harold is survived by his wife, Maxine; two sons, Bruce Crouse and his wife, Amy, of Arkansas City, Kan. and Roger Crouse and wife, Amy, of Chester; two daughters, Linda Kniep and husband. Randy, of Kansas City, Mo. and Trudy Vanderslice of Omaha; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Mon., Jan. 27, 2003 at the Central Christian Church, Belleville, Kan., conducted by Pastors Mark Imel and Don Callison. Interment was at Chester Cemetery, Chester, Nebr. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice. Services were under the direction of Bachelor-Faulkner-dart-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kan.
