Description	:	William Jacob Crouse, son of John and Kathrine Crouse, was born on Febr. 23, 1889, at Chester, Nebraska, and passed away on Jan. 28, 1956, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 5 days. Read More	William Jacob Crouse, son of John and Kathrine Crouse, was born on Febr. 23, 1889, at Chester, Nebraska, and passed away on Jan. 28, 1956, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 5 days. Will Crouse spent his entire life on the same farm where he was born. On November 24, 1915, Will was united in marriage to Anna Depke. From this matrimony two sons entered the world, Melvin and Harold who reside in Chester. Mrs. William Crouse became an invalid for the last few years of her life and Will cared for her diligently and lovingly until her death in 1950. Will Crouse was one of the best loved men of this community, his quiet, humble and Christian life was an example to many. His friends were grateful for their opportunity of comradeship. His sons were proud and loved deeply their father and the care and consideration given to his wife manifested to all a deep, spiritual and compassionate heart. Will was a Mason for 27 years. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Crouse, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Crouse, by an older brother, John Crouse, a sister, Mrs. Lee Larkins and numerous nieces and nephews and by six grandchildren. Will was a steadfast and loyal worker in the Christian Church for over 49 years. His relationship with Christ was apparent by his quiet dignity, his humble heart and by his Christian service. This afternoon we all share a tremendous feeling of loss in our human reluctance to bid farewell to one who was loved by so many. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 31, from the Christian church (sic), Chester, Rev. Frank Perry in charge. A quartet, Ernest Moxham, Mrs. Willard Rieke, K.L. Messman and Mrs. Wilbert Crouse sang, accompanied by Mrs. Ray Truss. Pallbearers were John Adams, Martin Schlife, Ben Adams, Walter Mosier, Ira Forell, and Casper Schlife. Interment was made in Chester cemetery (sic).
