Johnston, was born March 12, 1883, near Oak, Nebraska where she grew to womanhood, and attended the public schools, and after completing her high school work she entered college at Roseville, Illinois, graduating in the year 1904. Early in life she confessed her faith in Christ, and became identified with the Restoration movement, and placed her membership with the Church of Christ of Roseville, where it remained until the time of her death. While attending college, the subject of this short sketch became acquainted with Mr. Byron Taylor, and later they were united in marriage which occurred on June 12, 1906 at Nelson, Nebr. There were no children born to this union, but some time after their marriage they took a fine little girl to live with them, and who has been to them as their own child, and is here among the bereaved ones mourning for our deceased sister as much as if she had been her own mother, because of her kindness and interest which she has always shown toward her. After establishing their new home in Illinois, they remained there for about two years, when they came to Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, and settled near Oak. After residing in this community until the year 1911, they located in Yuma county (sic), Colo., which has been their home until the time of her death which occurred Thursday afternoon, February 14, 1929, about three o'clock, at the Park Avenue Hospital of Denver, being 45 years, 11 months and 2 days of age. Every thing was done that skilled physicians and kind nursing could do, but all in vain, when she peacefully fell asleep in Jesus. She was brought back to her parental home, where she was born one mile west of Oak in Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, where her funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the Christian minister of Edgar, Nebraska, who spoke words of comfort from Psalm 17:15, "As for me I shall behold they face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in thy likeness," to a large company of relatives and old time friends who had gathered to pay a tribute of respect to one who had been cut off from life so early. The music was furnished by a mixed quartette, in a very beautiful way. The floral offerings were elaborate and expressive of the high esteem in which our deceased sister was held. Sister Taylor leaves to mourn, a loving companion, one dear girl whom she loved as dearly as her own Foster mother (her parents having passed away some years ago) four sisters (two having been deceased), three brothers, besides many relatives and friends. May the bereaved ones have strength for this sad experience in life are the wishes of the writer, and their many neighbors and friends. Interment in the Edgar cemetery. J.J.
