Description	:	John Q. Johnston, 53, semi-retired farmer who has resided near the northeast limits of Nelson for about 10 years, died sometime between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m. Friday of last week as the result of a self-inflicted 22-calibre rifle shot in the forehead. The tragedy occurred at the roadside a block north of his home and was discovered by a neighbor, Robert Saladen, as he came to town about 7:00 a.m. County Attorney C.S. He was born at Oak May 11, 1903, the son of John Q. and Hester E. Johnston. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Viola, one daughter, Mrs. Donna Meirath, one son, John Q., a grandson, Billy Lynn Meirath, a brother, D., of Oak, and other relatives. Funeral services were held at the Klawitter chapel in Nelson Monday afternoon, with the Reverend. Mr. Lincoln B. Justice officiating. Burial was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic).
