Description	:	HARRY PENROSE WALKER was born on 7 June in 1889 at 8 Nydd Vale Terrace in Bilton with Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England and was christened on 14 July 1889 in Christ Church in Harrogate. He was the seventh of eight children born to WILLIAM JOHN WALKER and FRANCES EMMA (THOMPSON) WALKER. Read More	HARRY PENROSE WALKER was born on 7 June in 1889 at 8 Nydd Vale Terrace in Bilton with Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England and was christened on 14 July 1889 in Christ Church in Harrogate. He was the seventh of eight children born to WILLIAM JOHN WALKER and FRANCES EMMA (THOMPSON) WALKER. He spent his early years in Bilton with Harrogate, North Yorkshire and then after his mother died in 1902, his father moved the family to the Harehills district in north Leeds, West Yorkshire. Like his father he became a "joiner" and by the time of the 1911 British Census he was employed at a Railway Carriage shop in the city of York, Yorkshire. HARRY PENROSE WALKER was married to ADA MARY CHILD on 13 December 1913 in the Independent Chapel, Windermere Kendall, Troutbeck Bridge, Windermere, England and they settled on Grovehill Road in Beverly in the East Riding of Yorkshire and became the parents of a son. He was inducted into the British Army at Beverly, East Riding, Yorkshire on 23 August 1915 and completed the Signal School on 31 August 1915 and was rated as a "proficient telegraphist". He served in combat in the European theater during WW I and was discharged on 14 March 1917. He became a passenger clerk with LNER in Saltburn, Yorkshire and that is where he died on 25 September 1945.He was buried on 29 September 1945.
