Funeral services for Harvey B. O'Bryan were held Thursday afternoon from the Presbyterian church in charge of Rev. L. M. Harwood. Mr. O'Bryan died suddenly Monday evening from a heart attack, according to attending physicians. Mr. O'Bryan left his home Monday afternoon to attend his fishing lines in the Loup river near Austin, and when he did not return in the evening, the members of his family became alarmed and started a search for him. Cyrus Whitehead and Regina Costella drove to the river to investigate, finding his body near the car, as though the attack had struck him just as he got out. Fishing tackle was still on the car, they said. They notified relatives, who, with Dr. Wanek, returned to the scene. The body was brought to the Beushausen mortuary. Harvey Bedelson O'Bryan was born in Omaha, September 27, 1884, and died in Loup City, May 25, 1936 aged 51 years and 8 months. He came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. O'Bryan, to Sherman County, in the year 1887, and had made this his home since that time. On December 18, 1906, he was married to Miss Gracie Benschoter, of Loup City, and to this union one daughter was born. For about ten years Mr. O'Bryan was a brakeman and baggageman on the Union Pacific. Since that time, when his health permitted, he was a painter and interior decorator. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gracie O'Bryan, his daughter, Laura O'Bryan, both of Loup City, two brothers, J. R. O'Bryan of Omaha and M. C. O'Bryan of Oakland, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Joe Thompson, of Loup City. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one brother. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
