Description	:	Note: One great-grandson said her middle name was Hasseltine and another said it was possibly Helen. I have left it blank. Her middle initial was "H." She was the daughter of John Patton Grant and Georgia Ann "Georgeann" Wofford Grant. She was the wife of Alexander Lovin "Alex" Robbins, who was the son of Wade Robbins and Nancy Mathis Robbins, both had died before she married Alex. She was the daughter of John Patton Grant and Georgia Ann "Georgeann" Wofford Grant. She was the wife of Alexander Lovin "Alex" Robbins, who was the son of Wade Robbins and Nancy Mathis Robbins, both had died before she married Alex. She and Alex made their home on the part of Silvermine which is now known as "Taylor Road," on up the hill from present day Silvermine Baptist Church. That church used to be part of Swain County School System and her children attended school there, taught by school teacher Texie Jane Grant. They later moved to Tellico area and lived at 3 different places there, the last two were close to Tellico Baptist Church with the last one being across the road and aways back from the church. Lawrence and Birdell, two of their children had homes at Tellico area; daughter Maude's home was across Tellico gap in the Nantahala area. One grandson (DJH) remembers his grandparents well; they kept to themselves a lot. He doesn't remember them being in church, not even for holidays. He said when they were older they liked to sit and rock but his Grandma was a very warm and friendly person and was often busy in the kitchen and working over her woodstove. she did a lot of gardening and canning and enjoyed her flowers, she had one which is called a "spider flower" which has the scent of a skunk. She called them her "democrat flowers" she was a staunch Republican. She would laugh about that. DJH's wife remembers that well also and how she loved to laugh. They had 13 children; Birdell and Arnold enjoyed church and Arnold later became a pastor (Arnold was not the oldest as his obit says). I will check to see if all the children are linked.
