Description	:	Ms. Helen Christine Key, age 79, of Pilot Mountain, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at her home. Ms. Key was born in Stokes County, to the late Minnie Ida Mooney Key and Sidney Russell Key on December 9, 1932. Ms. Key loved the Lord and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. She was a housewife, worked as a secretary at R.J. Reynolds, and was a private duty CNA. Read More	Ms. Helen Christine Key, age 79, of Pilot Mountain, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at her home. Ms. Key was born in Stokes County, to the late Minnie Ida Mooney Key and Sidney Russell Key on December 9, 1932. Ms. Key loved the Lord and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. She was a housewife, worked as a secretary at R.J. Reynolds, and was a private duty CNA. She attended Pilot Mountain High School, where she enjoyed cheerleading and appearing in school plays and was named "May Queen". After high school, she completed a two-year secretarial/business program at Women's College in Greensboro. Ms. Key was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Opal and Estelle Key and Edith Key Gordon; brothers Russell, Hugh and Charles Key. Surviving are Ms. Key's beloved children, William Bryan Christian, III of Westfield, NC; Allison Christian Whitlock and husband Scott, of Charlotte, NC, Melanie Ann Christian and husband Eric Koplin, of Richmond, VA; and "Gram's" beloved grandchildren, Audrey, Kirby, Rachel and Ethan Whitlock of Charlotte. Also surviving are sisters Kathlyn Key Hauser of Winston-Salem, Virginia Key Rutledge of Burlington, Carole Key Merritt and husband Earl of Thomasville and sister-in-lawMaeola Booze Key; along with several nieces and nephews and their families. There will be no visitation per Ms. Key's request. A Graveside service will be held at Ararat Cedar Hills Primitive Baptist Church on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Tom Hunter officiating. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com, www.facebook.com/coxneedham is respectfully serving the Key family.
