She had been in poor health for the past few months. Her maiden name was Helena Hanson and she was born in Ringsaker parish, Hedemark, Norway, August 23, 1851. HASVOLD TUES MORNING Mrs. Lauritz Hasvold passed away Tuesday morning, December 17, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hulda May, in Egan. She had been in poor health for the past few months. Her maiden name was Helena Hanson and she was born in Ringsaker parish, Hedemark, Norway, August 23, 1851. At the age of ten years she emigrated with her parents to America and settled in Wisconsin. She was married to Lauritz Hasvold on December 30, 1928. Six sons and three daughters survive their mother. They are Adolph Hasvold, Mina, SD; H. R. Hasvold, Los Angeles; Melvin Hasvold, Flandreau, Gustave Hasvold, San Diego; Will and Alvin Hasvold, Flandreau. The daughters are Mrs. Laura Cassidy, San Francisco; Mrs. Alida Buck and Mrs. Hulda May, Egan. A sister, Randina Morine of Danbury, Wis., also survives. In 1882 the Hasvold family came to Moody county and settled in Clare township, where they resided until they moved to Flandreau. Mrs. Hasvold was one of those women who devoted her life to the service of those whom she loved. No task was too great where the welfare of loved ones was concerned. She was widely known and respected in this community. Arrangements for the funeral have not been definitely completed but present plans, if no change is made, call for services at the home of Dr. May in Egan Thursday afternoon and at the Flandreau Lutheran church at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. Blilie will officiate.
