Description	:	Henrietta Marie Franklin, 85 years old, died Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Atchison Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 10th, 2005 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. on Thursday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, or Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Association. Condolences to the family may be left on line at www.beckerdyer.com.  Henrietta Handke was born on June 23, 1919 in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Hulda (Winkler) Handke. She graduated from Atchison High School and attended Atchison Business School. She worked most of her life as a housewife and homemaker. She had worked for a short time as a waitress at the Atchison County Sale Barn. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Corinthians Circle of the church, a member of the Bendena Homemakers Club, and enjoyed gardening, and square dancing.  She was married to Franklin Peuker. Mr. Peuker preceded her in death on October 3, 1951. She was later married to Riley C. Franklin, on September 4, 1954. Mr. Franklin also preceded her in death on August 24, 1989. Survivors include three sons; Franklin and his wife Cheryl Peuker, Topeka, Kansas, Henry L. and his wife Sharon Peuker, Bendena, Kansas, and Lester and his wife Susan Peuker, St. Joseph, Missouri, two step daughters; Marcille Hanlan, Blue Springs, Missouri, and Janice Handke, Atchison, Kansas, a sister, Ruth Anna Kimmi, Atchison, Kansas, seven grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Her parents, and two brothers, Lewis and Wilbur Handke preceded her in death.
