Read More	Husband of Martha Ann Ritchey. Son of Peter Hull Grimes and Martha Sarah Grimes OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 12, 1967 GRIMES - Henry C. Grimes, youngest child of Peter Hull and Martha Sarah Grimes, was born in Monroe County, Iowa, September 7, 1884, and passed away February 20, 1967 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years, five months and 13 days. On April 22, 1907, he was united in marriage to Martha Ann Ritchey and to this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Cleo Arvetta Raffety. They made their home on the farm where he had grown to manhood, until 1919 when he, with his wife and daughter, moved to Lucas County to the farm where they remained until ill health prevailed and in 1961 they moved to Chariton where they have made their home. On January 6 he received a severe scald as the result of a blackout and was taken to the Lucas County Memorial Hospital. He was a thoughtful and kind patient and found peace with his God and often said that now he was ready to go home. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Thelia Beebout, Mrs. Sebia Barger, Mrs. Mary Boothe; two brothers, Brumby and Ezra Grimes, and his son-in-law, Guy Raffety. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Martha; daughter, Mrs. Cleo Raffety; one granddaughter, Mrs. Guyletha Storm and husband, Caryl; three great-grandsons, Gary, Robert and Bryan Storm. Also a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all as he was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, always a kind friend and neighbor, willing to lend a hand to any who needed help. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E. J. Berreth at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Coal Glen Cemetery.
