Description	:	Henry D Grieves was born in Des Moines County, Iowa, July 2, 1851 and passed from this life at his home in Nodaway, Iowa, May 5, 1937. He grew to manhood in Des Moines County, Iowa and moved from there to Taylor County, South of Nodaway, in March 1883. He was united in marriage to Miss Bell McMillin January 9, 1886. To this union was born one son, Jay McMillin Grieves, who preceded his father in death March 12, 1916. Read More	Henry D Grieves was born in Des Moines County, Iowa, July 2, 1851 and passed from this life at his home in Nodaway, Iowa, May 5, 1937. He grew to manhood in Des Moines County, Iowa and moved from there to Taylor County, South of Nodaway, in March 1883. He was united in marriage to Miss Bell McMillin January 9, 1886. To this union was born one son, Jay McMillin Grieves, who preceded his father in death March 12, 1916. He was converted and confessed his Saviour and was baptized for the remission of his sins a number of years ago. He was stricken with paralysis nearly 8 years ago at which time they moved to Nodaway and has been a very patient sufferer ever since. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one sister, Mary Grieves, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. When he was called and the time at hand, he slipped away as he had lived on earth, very quietly and very peaceful. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Ray W. Cornwell, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, assisted by Rev. D. A. Zook, pastor of the M. E. Church. The singers were Mrs. Roy Richard and Miss Alice Hunter accompanied on the piano by Mrs. C. N. Kennedy. Burial was made in the Methodist Grove Cemetery. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moore, Manning Moore from Ravenwood, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. Newt Moore of Creston and Floyd Young of Stringtown.
