Adams County Free Press, March 15, 1916, page 19 Friends of the family were grieved to learn of the death of Jay McMillin Grieves, the 16 year old son and only child of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grieves residing south of Nodaway, which occurred Sunday morning. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and was conducted by Rev. W. H. Doyle, pastor of the Methodist Church of Nodaway. Interment was made in the Nodaway Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Grieves and son had been making a year tour of the west and only returned a short time ago, visiting Corning friends en route home. Upon their arrival home the son immediately contracted typhoid fever, soon passing away. Those from Corning who attended the funeral were Mrs. A. Z. T. Snethen and daughter, Miss Nellie, W. P.
