Mrs. Lester Boyer is a niece and Carl Smith is a nephew of Mr. Jauken. HENRY JAUKEN Henry Jauken, 86, son of Christina (Hecht) and John Jauken, was born August 18, 1883, four miles south and one mile west of DuBois, Nebr. He passed away at the Sabetha Hospital on November 15, 1969. He was baptized in infancy. At the age of seven he moved with his parents to near Sterling, Nebr. In 1897 he moved with his parents six miles south of DuBois, Nebr. in Kansas, where he grew to manhood. He loved the outdoors and liked fishing. He was a member of Frieden's United Church of Christ south of DuBois. Mr. Jauken is survived by one sister, Mrs. Sophia Amos, Pawnee City, Nebr., nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. The funeral services were held Tuesday, November 18, at the Frieden's Church with rev. Werner and rev. Joseph Cooke officiating. The singers were Mrs. Lyle Hess and Mrs. Richard Droge, with Mrs. Melvin Bredemeier as the pianist. Casket bearers were Herbert Marteney, Rex Griffith, Chris Hartman, Ralph Bell, John Carlson, Lloyd Rodecap. He was laid to rest in the Frieden's Church cemetery. Popkess Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
