Mr. Day was a former pastor of the Holl family when they lived at Dolliver. Pall bearers will be Jim Hill and Ray Bardo, both of Estherville, and Ray McKean, Chris Jesperson, Chris Skarrup and Lawrence Swartz, all of Maple Hill. The Holl family had been delaying funeral plans to give a son, Wayne, a chance to give a son, Wayne, a chance to get to Estherville. He is in the navy and is presently somewhere at sea. Another son of the deceased, Wesley, was travelling from Salt Lake City to Falls City, Neb., at the time of his father's death. He has now arrived in Estherville. Holl succumbed to a heart attack early Friday morning while visiting at the farm home of his son, Richard, near Swan Lake. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 1, 1948) Henry Holl Dies Suddenly Friday of Heart Attack Henry Holl passed away at the Holy Family hospital last Friday [August 27, 1948] morning at 9:30 of a heart attack. He had gone to the farm home of his son, Richard near Swan Lake. While there he became suddenly ill. He was rushed to a hospital by his son George, and soon passed away. Mr. Holl was born in Germany July 12, 1880. He resided there until sixteen and came to this country. He visited Germany five years later and decided this was his country and has lived here ever since. He was united in marriage with Agnes Isder at Grundy Center Feb. 21, 1903. They moved to Emmet county in 1914 and resided on a farm in Swan Lake township until three years ago when they moved to Estherville to make their home. Mr. Holl was active in his community. He was a fine neighbor and highly respected. He was interested in education and served on the school board and was a director of the Dolliver creamery. He was always interested in civic affairs. He was a member of the Methodist church. He is survived by his window and five sons, Lee, Wesley and Richard of Estherville, George of Dolliver and Wayne in the Navy. The funeral will be held at the Methodist church in Estherville Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Day will officiate. Interment will be in the Dolliver cemetery.
